Nagoya, Japan – Naoya Inoue reaffirmed his dominance at super bantamweight on Sunday, September 14, delivering a commanding unanimous decision over Murodjon Akhmadaliev at IG Arena in Nagoya.
The undisputed 122-pound champion controlled the bout from start to finish, earning wide scorecards of 118-110 twice and 117-111 to successfully defend all four major titles. With the victory, Inoue improved his unblemished record to 31-0 with 27 knockouts, while Akhmadaliev fell to 14-2.
Inoue’s speed, timing, and power consistently disrupted Akhmadaliev’s offense, preventing the challenger from establishing any sustained rhythm. Although Inoue acknowledged the difficulty of the assignment afterward, he credited Akhmadaliev’s skill for bringing out his best performance.
The win marked Inoue’s fifth defense as the undisputed super bantamweight champion and extended his remarkable run of world title appearances to 26 consecutive bouts. While that streak remains intact, the contest also brought an end to another notable run, underscoring the significance of the matchup.
